Prayer Flags
Prayer Flags in the Tibetan tradition are meant to wave in the wind and their movement releases blessings.
Eventually, the Prayer Flags fade and fray becoming fragments and finally disappearing into earth and sky.
The pieces I make and call Prayer Flags are unbleached cotton I dye and paint. The marks on these pieces are not intended to be words or letters. They signify nothing in a literal sense.
They may be said to speak the unspeakable—that which cannot be spoken.
